Natural variation
No two pieces of natural stone are identical, and that is by design. Expect — and enjoy — a degree of natural variation across any stone installation.
- Colour, texture and veining vary from piece to piece.
- Stone develops a natural patina over time as it weathers.
- Minor efflorescence (a light mineral haze) can appear early and typically resolves on its own.
- Seasonal movement is expected and is accounted for in how the work is built.
Built to last
The longevity of stonework is decided beneath the surface. Built on a properly engineered base, with correct drainage and detailing, natural stone steps, walls and terraces are designed to perform for decades through freeze-thaw cycles and heavy use.
Simple care
Natural stone is low-maintenance, but a little attention keeps it looking its best.
- Rinse off dirt and debris as needed; avoid harsh acidic cleaners.
- Keep joints and drainage clear so water continues to move correctly.
- Address any settling or movement early rather than letting it progress.
What is normal versus what to flag
Patina, subtle colour shifts and minor seasonal movement are all normal. If you notice significant shifting, pooling water where it should drain, or loose units, let us know — those are the things worth a closer look, and anything under warranty is documented from completion.
